“Once a week, the lady interns join Jenn, one of Thrive’s staff members, for Girl’s Night. It is a time for the ladies to get together and have some “girl time.” We have recently been going through a book entitled Captivating together and are learning about what it means to be a truly captivating woman. Girl’s Night is a great opportunity for all of the girls to really get to know each other and grow closer together. It is a time for us to show our devotion to God in a way that only girls can.” Written by Chelsea, one of our amazing 2009 interns
We have been sharing how we are captivated by God each week and this is just a peak into me this past week:
How did God captivate me this week? I am in awe of Him. Complete Awe. When I am weak, He is strong. Sounds cliché’, but that is what my month has been about. My constant pouring out, giving out, in ways I didn’t know, people seemed to be demanding of me, or probably better said, “I demanded of myself.” I gave and I gave, feeling as though my cup was in constant pour motion, not tipping up to be refilled, not running dry though it seemed it should. How was this happening? It surely wasn’t me. I was in constant motion.
God. God was working a miracle in me. God was filling me up. I’m not totally sure how He did it, but I know He did. I’m sitting now, cup sitting, lip pointed towards the sky. Awed. Captivated.
